With prom approaching in April, the Cyclone Boutique is currently in need of gently used or new men’s dress shoes, belts, tuxedos, and very nice suits. Those interested in supporting the Boutique may drop off clean items at the high school office or contact Ms. Carney at jannetta.carney@rsdk12.net.
For the third or fourth year in a row, the Cyclone Boutique at Russellville High School has partnered with Saving Grace Women's Home to support women in our community as they prepare for a special evening of celebration.
On Tuesday, February 17, Tiffany Jansen from Saving Grace brought 20 women to the Cyclone Boutique to find dresses to borrow for their upcoming annual banquet. Each woman was able to select a dress that fit beautifully and made her feel confident and celebrated. Seeing all 20 women leave with something they loved was a meaningful reminder of how small acts of service can make a lasting impact.
The Cyclone Boutique, coordinated by Ms. Carney, is a unique service program at Russellville High School that provides students access to formal and professional attire for dances, interviews, banquets, and graduation. The program was established several years ago under the leadership of former principal Mr. White, who believed that no student should miss out on important milestones due to financial hardship. Through the Boutique, students are able to rent formalwear for events and return the items to be cleaned and restocked for future use.
This program continues to thrive thanks to generous community support. Junior Auxiliary and Crown Club have embraced the Boutique as one of their service projects, and Quick Service Cleaners ensures every item is professionally cleaned and ready to wear.
Through partnerships like these, the Cyclone Boutique continues to reflect the heart of our community and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to feel confident, included, and celebrated.
