🐣 Exciting Learning in 3rd Grade! 🐣
Our 3rd grade classes are getting a hands-on science experience as they learn about the life cycle of a chicken!
A big thank you to, 4-H Agent, Ashton Lancaster for bringing fertilized chicken eggs for our students to observe. The eggs have been safely kept in an incubator and are currently on Day 17 of incubation. If all goes as planned, we are hoping to see some little chicks begin hatching on Thursday! 🐥
This project gives our students a wonderful opportunity to see science come to life as they learn about the stages of development and what it takes to care for animals.
Once the chicks hatch, they will be picked up Friday morning and taken to their loving family where they will continue to grow and thrive.
We can’t wait to see the excitement on our students’ faces when the chicks begin to hatch! Stay tuned for updates! 🐣💛

Please help us congratulate our March Staff of the Month, Renea Aden! 🎉

We are so thankful for the dedication, organization, and care she brings to our school community. Dwight Elementary is lucky to have her! 💙

Let’s come together to recognize their dedication and success this quarter! 🌟

We were excited to welcome members of the Rotary Club to Dwight Elementary to visit with our 3rd grade students and talk about the importance of reading. They shared with students how reading can open doors to learning, imagination, and future opportunities.
As a special gift, each student received a copy of I Survived: Hurricane Katrina: The Graphic Novel to take home and enjoy. Our students were thrilled to receive their books and can’t wait to start reading!
Thank you to the Rotary Club for taking the time to invest in our students and encourage a love of reading. Your support means so much to our school! ❤️📖

Our Kindergarten students recently had a fun and memorable Discovery Kitchen experience with Chartwell’s featuring a special Dr. Seuss edition!
Students got to sample green eggs and ham while the story Green Eggs and Ham was read to them. It was a brand new experience for many of our kindergarteners! Some students loved the tasty treat, while others weren’t quite convinced and gave a big “yuck!” — which made the activity even more fun.
It was a wonderful way to combine reading, trying new foods, and a little Dr. Seuss fun all in one activity.
Thank you to Chartwell’s for providing this engaging experience for our students! 💚
