The Pope County Health Unit will provide flu vaccines for RSD students. Sequoyah students will receive flu vaccines on Friday, October 18th from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Students must have a completed consent and FERPA form turned in to receive the flu vaccine. Students will not receive the flu vaccine if they do not have these forms on file. Forms have been sent home. If you are in need of a replacement form, please contact the office. PLEASE NOTE: THE FLU MIST WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT THIS CLINIC.

Sequoyah has some very BIG NEWS to share!!! Mrs. McShane received the following letter and notified all staff and students today at lunch via a broadcast live from Washington D.C. Dear Principal of Sequoyah Elementary School: Congratulations! Sequoyah Elementary School in Russellville School District has been designated an Exemplary High Performing Schools National Blue Ribbon School for 2019 by U. S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. Your school is one of 362 schools in the nation and one of two schools from Arkansas to be recognized in 2019. Your school’s official letter of designation from Secretary DeVos will be mailed to your school. Congrats to all the teachers and staff at Sequoyah who work so hard day in and day out to make our school the very best that it can be!!

Parents-You can now print our monthly lunch menus by going to the Sequoyah website. Go to the MENU header tab and under the drop down menu click DOCUMENTS. Scroll down until you find the file titled Sept. menu. Menus can also be found by clicking on the DINING option as well under the same MENU heading.

Parents- As you begin driving your children to school tomorrow morning, please be aware that Arkansas state law (Act 738) states that cell phone use is banned within all school zones during school hours or when students are present. Fines can now run upwards of $500. We hope you find this information helpful for your upcoming morning commutes.

Tonight's Meet the Teacher/Open House is a come & go event from 5-7.Due to construction, parking will be limited. We hope this time span will help alleviate traffic congestion. Families are encouraged to come to the cafeteria after visiting the classroom. See you soon!

Parents: If your children have attended the Boys and Girls Club after school program, or you are considering enrolling your child in the program, please be advised of this new information. The Boys and Girls Club after school program has new hours. The club will close at 6:00 p.m. Students planning to attend must register at the Boys and Girls Club. The program will begin on the first day of school, August 14th.

A Sequoyah Robotics Informational Night will be held on Tuesday, May 14th at 5:30 in the cafeteria. All current 2nd & 3rd grade students interested in trying out for next year's robotics team should attend this meeting with a family member.

ACT You Got This
3rd and 4th grade student will begin taking the ACT Aspire test on Friday. It is important for students to be on time for school each day during testing. Testing will run from Friday, Apr. 26 - Thur. May 2nd. Student who are absent will be required to make up missed testing sessions.
