Information sent out this evening through our phone messaging system...
Good Evening Tiger Families! This is Krista Malin, principal at London Elementary. If you have not already heard, the school board made the decision last night that this Friday will be a Remote Learning Day for all students due to an uprise in positive COVID cases in the community. I wanted to give you more details specific to our school.
We will be sending home a device with your child tomorrow afternoon. Teachers will be posting remote learning assignments for Friday. There will be fewer assignments than on past remote learning days because our teachers had planned some Thanksgiving activities that would just be impossible to do on a device. The teachers will still have office hours on Friday if your child needs help with the assignments. Their set office hours will be posted on Seesaw for K-1 and Google Classroom for 2-4. Your children should be very familiar with how to login and use the device to access Seesaw or Google classroom because they use this frequently in class. Teachers will have explained assignments to students. In addition, tech support will be available by calling the office. Your child will keep the device over the Thanksgiving break and bring it back to school when they return on Monday, November 30th.
We now have a limited number of hot spots available for students that do not have internet access. The hot spot does require cell service, but it does not use personal cell data. The hot spots are available on a first come, first serve basis for families with zero internet access. To check a hot spot out, a parent will need to come to the office and sign a user agreement for it.
We will be sending home a sack with breakfast and lunch in it for Friday with every student.
Our office and tech support will be closed next week for Thanksgiving break. Thank you for trusting us with your child! We are so thankful for them and so grateful for your support! We have the best students and families in the whole wide world! We hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving!
Have a great evening!
